Im running MC 2.7.3 on dual E6600 2GB RAM and Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX(PC)
the problem is I cant play in full screen mode it says I dont have the right hardware.
is there a driver I can download? I had FX350 and suffered from the same problem but I found
a sriver for the FX350 and it worked fine. But now with the Geforce is there any direction or i better change back to my old card(FX350)?
Please Help Me
You said you were running MC 2.7.3. Did you mean to type 2.8.3, or are you actually running an older version of MC (which is currently at 2.8.3)?
If you typed correctly and you're not running 2.8.3 yet, updating MC may solve your issue. According to another thread (http://community.avid.com/forums/p/55275/310420.aspx#310420), MC 2.8 was the first version of MC to allow Full Screen Playback with the Geforce 8800 (using the 169.xx drivers.) I realize that you're using a 9800 and not an 8800, so this may not apply to you, but given that MC 2.8 fixed a similar issue with the 8800, I'd say it's definitely worth a try.
Please let us know if you try it, and whether or not it works. A lot of people like to use Geforce cards instead of Quadros, so this may be valuable information to a lot of users.
Thanks,
Larry
Guys as I remain in GFX card hell with a Quadro, I note I too am running MC2.8.1. Do you know if this link contain 2.8.3 http://www.avid.com/register/mcsoft_cpr_download.asp?version=win28 It certainly doesnt state that, which would be rather handy. I'll suck it and see meantime. D
MC 3, XP SP2, Asus P5K-E Mobo, Dual Quad Core 2.4Ghz CPU (3.0 Ghz if I'm up against it!), 4Gb 800Mhz RAM Dual channel, 4 x 500Gb SATA Stripe O pairs, Quadro FX 1500 GFX, Soundblaster Audigy, Mojo SDi. Sony PVM CRT. Approved Avid HP 8240 Notebook. Original DIY PC: Shuttle SN85, AMD 3200, 1Gig Ram, Quadro 980, on board sound, on board firewire, 2 x SATA + WD ext HDD - could that be less 'compatible? Never hiccuped once! :-)
I would think that the download center would offer the most recent version of 2.8, but it does seem really strange that it doesn't actually state this.
Hi Larry - I'm re-installing my OS at the moment, so I'll download that again and see what version it is when I install afresh (again). I couldnt tell by hovering over the downloaded install files before I killed the PC.
Moral: never touch overclocking settings in order to learn about what they do!!

10x 4 ur comment, Ill try 2.8 or may b 3.X MC.
well I tried the 2.8 version and it still dont FSP. Do you think its a driver or maybe a newer version of MC?

Jusdt installed it - it is actually an OLDER version than my b CD. I have 2.8.1 on the recently purchased MC CD and the site is offereing 2.8.0. Rather PANTS I'd say and rather old thinking

But if that's the case, where is 2.8.3? The readme is available for 2.8.3, and according to the information on this site, 2.8.3 is the latest version. If the MC download is only 2.8.0, where do we get 2.8.3?
PS. When you got your MC CD, did it happen to come with the official MC "slide box," or was it just loose in a regular brown shipping box? I didn't' get the slide box, and I'm wondering if this is normal.

Did you try the latest drivers from nvidia (175.16 as of this writing)? Did you play with the nvidia control panel settings (full screen video, etc)? I'm honestly not sure what the correct settings would be, so I can't be specific in this regard.
If nothing works, it could simply be a compatibility issue between the 9800 drivers and MC. The 9800's are pretty new, and the drivers are therefore not very mature yet, so this could be the issue. It's also possible that nvidia once again changed the way the card's features work (overlay capabilities, etc.), and that this is causing issues with MC's FSP mode. If this is the case, it's still possible that a driver update could fix it, but there is no way to know for sure at this point.
Please keep this thread updated -- I'd be interested to hear any further developments you discover.
