How do I mitigate the effect of motion tracking?

There's a great tutorial here on Avid's site that explains how to use the motion tracking in Avid (which is faster and more accurate than After Effects, it seems).  But I have a question I can't find the answer to. It seems the most common solution to stabilizing shots is to use the tracking + scaling, which makes the picture bigger to compensate for the jittery footage. But what if I want to use that tracking data, but MITIGATE how much it attempts to stabilize the footage. That is, rather than making it 100% stable, let's say I want it to be averaged down a bit so that it's only 75% stable. That way, I can take crazy handheld and make it somewhat handheld, preserving some of that motion while still stabilizing it somewhat. Is there a way to change HOW MUCH stabilization Avid adds to the footage?

In the tracking Window, you have an option to use "SteadyGlide" or "Enable Smoothing" (both mutually exclusive).  By them is a number ('50 by default).  Simply 'dial in' a smaller number.  The higher the number, the more SteadyGlide/Enable Smoothing it does.
