    Optimal Capture Resolution/Input Signal

    Greetings,

I think I know the answer, but looking for some affirmation.  I'm producing a project with footage captured on MiniDV from a Panasonic DVX100a.

I'm assuming I use the DV25 resolution in Avid on capture.  I gain NOTHING by gong 3 or 2 of even 1 to 1, correct?

Also, I'm less clear on what's the optimal path to bring it into Avid.  Firewire or SDI.

Obviously trying to maintain as good as quality as possible.

Thanks for your consideration and opinions.

Yup.  DV25 over firewire - otherwise you're decompressing - recompressing the data.
