Using Xpress Pro 5.7 on a PC.
Trying to capture audio and video from a VHS tape so I patch the VHS player into the DVCAM recorder/player that is conected via firewire into the computer. Vision and sound both appear in the DVCAM machine and I can make a dub there but when I go to capture in Avid - the vision comes into Avid but NOT the sound. If I play a DVCAM tape - no problems - plenty of audio.
This has not been a problem with earlier versions of the software and i am wondering is there a setting that I am missing? Any ideas gratefully appreciated.
Kind regards
Triny
Nope. They broke it in 5.7.x. For some reason, they are completely reluctant to change it back. Don't know why or what the problem is but it's a giant pain.

I am so glad this resurfaces now and then. It first showed up in September of 2006. Many, many are affected, yet there has been no fix.

And many more.
...and from my discussions with Avid, there won't be a fix in 3.0 either.
Oh how wonderful. This is that new focus on customer service, right?
