    Sharing media across multiple projects

I’ve worked on Unity a bunch of times, but always on a single project.  I’m about to start an 8 episode series, where it seems like the smartest workflow would be to make a separate project for each episode.  How should I handle the media bins so that all of the media is accessible from each project?  Should I ingest from one project and then copy the bin files to all the rest of the projects using the Finder?  Should I try to digitize each tape in the project that it will most likely be used for, and other editors can use the “Open Bin” feature if they want to use that media?  There will definitely be material that all the editors will need access to (b-roll, graphics, etc.).

Re: Sharing media across multiple projects

I do this workflow regularly. I create a Common Elements project for material that will be used in all eight episodes, and then create individual episode projects, using the open bins command to access common elements material. That way, when any given episode project is deleted, all the material used in it from common elements remains online in the system.
