I have a project where I need to import a few hundred photos and drag all of them at once into the time line. The problem is that I want to have a transition between each photo, and I don't want to set in/out points for each one so that I can have a handle on both sides. I know that I can limit each photos import time to 5 seconds, but I would like to have the in point set at 20 frames from the start, and the out point 20 frames from the end.Is there an easy way to do this? I tried to export an ALE and then manipulate it in Excel and re-import it, but it did not work. I don't have Avid Log Exchange. Is there some other work around?
Thanks!!!!
go to the bin and switch to script view. Ctrl+A to select all clips. hit advance ten frames twice. hit mark in. hit end to go to the end of the clips. hit reverse ten frame button twice hit mark out. drag all the clips to the timeline.
From an earlier post of mine, here are some hints...
This may be tedious for 5 minutes, but it works for me when I have a bunch of clips (usually graphics) where they all need to have a specific in and/or out point. Open the bin with your clips and selct "script" view. Select each clip. If selecting all, use the pull down "edit" menu and pick "select all". Hit the home key, and then use the 2 key to advance 10 frames. When at your desired out point (or in point) simply mark in or out using your keyboard. I have found that this only works with keystrokes and does not work using your mouse to select functions (like in and out). I haven't experimented with this much, but this works for me.
This worked perfectly!
Thanks so much. I could not find this in the on-line help.
This is going to save me a lot of time now and in the future....
