There's a number of ways of doing it: none of which are as easy as a template in MC unfortunately.
1) Use the paint tool, although each stroke has to be individually given a 'Path' and this can take AGES and probably won't look all that hot.
2) Download a free fully functioning copy of Heroglyph, which allows you to EASILY animate your own Write-On text.

3) If you want to use an EXISTING Handwritten Font and create the Illusion of it writing on, you can do this with a mixture of any Photoshop and any plug-in you might have in MC that allows for Custom Linear Wipes (i.e. there's one in AvidFX). I've written a quick Tutorial (for my own purposes) that shows how to do this - based on a previous forum discussion and advice from a number of people on here, i.e Sep!, which I'd be happy to email to you.
Ra-ey Q: "How many Editors does it take to change a lightbulb?" A: "Why do you want to change it?"
Its fairly easy to do also with Boris Red (Avid FX). There is even a tutorial on the BorisFX website to show you how.

Weird, works when I do it.
Otherwise, just go to the proDad website:
