    OSX 10.5?

    I have a new MacBookPro, and am trying to install 5.7 on it, and get this faliure;

"system/libaray/extensions/DigIO.kext was installed impropperly and canot be used"

is this a OSX 10.5 failure?

and what is the best action to take?

    should i install 10.4.9?

or give up on OSX, and go Bootcamp/XP?

    Thanks!

No Avid software is qualified to run on Leopard yet. The first qualified version will be Media Composer 3.0 when it is released next month.

Yup..... i know it's not qualfied

so the question is... is the error a known issue, and there's a workaround?

    -or-

is it OSX 10.5 related, and the answer is to find 10.4, wipe the thing, and re-install?

ps... 10.4 is  impossiable to find in Carndonagh, Donegal, Ireland where i am on location

As far as I know, it was never possible  to install that version of 'Pro on Leopard, at all. I think that 5.8.3 was one version that would install though.

    Re: OSX 10.5?

As I got a little tired of running XPro from an external Tiger boot disk, I tried to install it on my Intel MB Pro / Leopard 10.5.2 "just for fun":

I followed the instructions for MC 2.8 and installed XPro 5.8.

    Result:

It seems to run fine: No error messages, no kernel panics, etc..

I only encountered some issues with adjusting basic settings. Importing my old settings from Tiger solved that problem.
