I am not sure what to do any more i check the net for answers and tried some things but nothing has worked. every now and again i will allow avid to open but that like 20% of the time.  Please help, i got projecst to do and am fustrated.

    Hi,

Since startup hangs at Initializing Audio, it'd help to know what audio card you have.

    prragey2g:
    newest quick time

According to the version matrix, you ought to be running Quicktime 6.5.1.

Also, XPress Pro 5.0 is pretty old.  You might want to consider upgrading to the latest version, which is 5.8.3.

    good luck,
    Carl
