    HD ouputting

What are my options when I want to output a HD sequence?

Original footage was shot in HDV(1080i), I transcoded  it avid HD codec for editing

and I usually output to blu ray.

But if I want to output to tape?

do I have to transcode back to HDV to output to tape?

what are my other options for outputting to tape?

    thanks guys

    Mike

your other options would be to attach an adrenaline with the DNxHD board, and output via HD-SDI to a deck.

If you don't want to spend any money, convert back to HDV, output to that deck, then dub to whatever format you desire.

    Re: HD ouputting

If you shot HDV 1080i then your options are:

HDV, XDCAM HD, DVCPRO HD, HDCAM or HDCAMsr.

There is no in-between for quality with these formats however since you shot a format (HDV) that is lower in quality (sorry to say it that way) than the capabilities of these formats. So your output will not look any different on any of these, than it does on HDV. In terms of cost, the list I just wrote here is probably the cheapest cost on the left to the highest on the right...

I think we need a few more digital HD formats
