Hi,
the support tool from DS said "3GB switch is off", so last week I tried to change the boot.ini, but it didn´t work. I´ve restored the old boot.ini and restarted the system. All worked fine! Today I boot the System and blue screen appears after the windows log on. There´s no chance to log on, neither as user or administrator, nor with or without network. The system boots in safe mode and a "loadperf" and "VSS" error appears. Any ideas to fix this problem?
Thanks for help
Erich
If you can get in Safe Mode then we can fix this.
Get on Safe Mode.
My computer ->Folder Options - > View -> Show Hidden files and folders + Uncheck Hide Protectoed OS files
go to you C drive.
The boot.ini file will now be visible. It is just a text file. Open it with Notepad and remove the offending previous changes you made.
Reboot.
If that does not work, is there a possibility to post your boot.ini file? We may be to analyze it for errors.
Worst possible scenario is you removed the system drive and connect it to another computer to fix access the Boot.ini file or access your files before a clean install of the OS.

here is the current boot.ini:
[boot loader]timeout=30default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS[operating systems]multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional x64 Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /3GB
Thanks
Well you still have the /3GB switch there, but just no parameter for the size.
VSS is Volume Shadowing Service. A MS feature to backup necessary files. Is it set to Manual in Services panel?
Yes, the service for VSS is set to manual.
Are there any suggestions how the parameter for 3GB switch should be set?
Windows 64-bit does not require the /3GB switch. However, on your xw9300, you need to "Enable Memory Mapping" in the BIOS.
