Hello
I have a problem while trying to import HD footage to AVid, I use ClippBrowser to import from camera (xdcam EX - sony) after geting mxf file and importing it to avid and trying to open i have a error message: Exception: DecompStream::GetStreamingLongGOPFrame error settings decode params, status 1
Anyone has an idea where is a problem?
Avid 5.7.7 (with Mojo) on PC 2 x Xeon 3gb Memory
I dont know that exact error but I can tell you it an error specific to your footage. That "GOP" in the middle (...LongGOPFrame...) refers to a the way XDCAM (and HDV also) shoots in HD. It collects something like 8 pictures at a time then compresses them to a single space. Other formats just collect one picture at a time, while others collect 2, half pictures (etc etc.)
But in your case, 8 into 1 and thus a "group of pictures." It seems like the error has to do with unpacking that group for viewing. Sorry i cant be more help.

Hi,
What bit rate is the footage?
good luck,Carl
There is no such thing as a video emergency. My Demo Website
I'm useing Sony XDCAM EX camera footage is 1920x768, but i think after useing Sony Clip Viewer it has a different resolution, weird think is file info shows me 1920x548 (or something close- can't check it now).
I've found some things with AppleCodec PE and LE, my avid has just LE due to was updated via internet. Can't find my cd intall version so can't check if i have a PE version (i have mac aswell, useing as main editing set - avid it;s just a back up)
I'll check later on how bit rate is after importing files via clip viewer.
Also what type of project did you start?
