P2 Audio TC and missing media

I'm running into two issues I haven't found an answer for on the site.  I'm sure there is something about both of these, but I haven't found a search criteria that gave me an answer.

First off, I've got a P2 720 24pn multi-cam concert with SMTPE TC generated from the audio recorder at 29.97 recorded to audio track one.  The Read Audio Timecode does not work.  I read one thread that stated AVID will not read 29.97 tc in a 24p project.  Is the solution then to generate 24 frame TC from the audio rig?  I've also tried subclipping the individual songs and giving the clip a tape ID, neither of which worked.

Secondly, I keep running into random offline media with the P2 clips.  The most frequent thing that happens is the audio tracks don't show up even though the media is in the media folder.  Sometimes they will come back online by themselves, but not always.  I currently have a clip that is missing a segment of video that I keep reloading but cannot get the avid to recognize.  It is a spanned clip, so I'm sure that is the problem for that specific case, but not for everything.  I try deleting the directory so that Avid will recognize the media is there, but it isn't helping.

First of all, have you actually done the advised steps, first using the P2->Import Clips option, then using the P2->Import Media?

Second, Read Audio Timecode does not work when the master clip does not have a Tapename, which the P2 imports don't have. I've done a test with some P2 footage, imported it into Avid, then assigned a Tapename to them (I used the date as a number, ergo 20080511 for today). After that, RATC worked.

However, my test was brief, on 2.7.3, and in DVCPROHD 1080/50i.

I didn't use the workflow at first, but have started using it now.  I don't know if that specific clip was a victim of the old workflow whereby you drag media directly to the media folder and then to the bin via the media tool.  I tried deleting everything and then re-importing it via the proper method, but it still isn't giving me the missing media.  Should I just start the entire project and media import all over?

When I try to give the clip a tape name, I get this error:

Exception: SMReturnTapeMobOffset: sourceMob editrate (60) does not match tc editrate (24).

    mastermidnight:

When I try to give the clip a tape name, I get this error:

Exception: SMReturnTapeMobOffset: sourceMob editrate (60) does not match tc editrate (24).

Are you typing in a tapename in the column, or are you using Clip->Modify->Set Source?

The error message sounds like a 24/30 NTSC thing, which I am not too familiar with.

I am using the modify function.

I've also found another issue that is worth mentioning.  I recorded some footage on a firestore and have successfully brought the footage into the system, but it won't recognize it as 24p.  Is there a way to fix this?  I realize after reading the P2 workflow blog that I'm most likely not recording the footage correctly which I will now change, but is there a fix for the footage that wasn't recorded correctly?

If you are trying to change the format of the MXF files, you should have a look at Raylight MXFX.
