The position indicator in the timeline freezes after adding a video or audio clip. I can still use JKL to move but I am no longer able to drag the blue position indicator? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I could also use a Mentor as I am new to Media Composer. I am using Windows XP if that matters. I am located in Northern VA.

If you haven't already, do a complete shutdown and power recycle on all hardware and restart. If that doesn't do it, the site settings files may have become corrupted. Quit the app, go into the settings folder and trash the following: MC State, Site_Settings, Site_Attributes. On re-launch, the system will detect the missing files and build new ones. This often accounts for erratically behaving toolsets.
