I've been finding lately that giving the Expert Render command immediately crashed the Avid software quite frequently. A regular render command never does.
Is anyone else experiencing this, and why might it be happening? I don't experience any other issues with the program.
Thanks,
Ted

It may be a corrupt FX or media. If corrup media...
Rebuild your media database.
If corrupt FX, try subclipping sections of your timeline until you can narrow down the corrupt FX.

Dom, thanks for the response.
I don't think those are the causes, because as I said a full render of the same material doesn't encounter any problems. I'm also experiencing the issue with a wide variety of sequences, media and effects. Any other possibilities?
And I forgot to add, these are typically little renders of a few seconds running time in a sequence, either rendering at position or marked in/out, so the whole sequence is not even involved (obviiating the need for a test by subclipping a section of the cut).
