    closed my bin

I am brand new to avid. I am using an old version of Xpress Pro (4.3.1) and hope I just don't know where to look. I had just finished a project and was closing the title tool window when I accidently closed my bin. my whole timeline disappeared, when I brought the sequence back to the timeline all my color correction and titling and audio tweaks were gone... please tell me I can get those back and how?

It sounds as if you opened a different sequence. If you closed your bin successfully, all of your work was saved. Look around and see if maybe your sequence was in a different Bin. If you were using Super Bin, you could have closed a bunch of them at once.

    Re: closed my bin

Go to your "Avid Attic" folder, find the appropriate project folder and find the appropriate attic bin with your sequence - you should see several versions of your sequence there. copy that bin file to the desktop. Now, inside your current Avid project, use the "open bins" pull down command and navigate to that bin on the desktop. DO NOT have the original sequence bin open at the same time. Open the attic bin. Create a new bin and copy the sequence files to it. Close the attic bin. You should be good to go with several earlier versions of your lost sequence.

there were only two sequences in there and while all cuts are there none of the other things I mentioned are... and when I drag a sequence to timeline it starts a new sequence... did I just lose the last two days of work?

Don't drag the sequence to the timeline, drag it to the record monitor. How many BINS do you have?

three bins, one raw footage, one titling, music and graphics, and one finished project. All the files are there but the transitions, the titling, music, color correction, etc are no longer showing.

Ok, I got it to show up I was dragging the sequence to the wrong place... thank you very much for the prompt replies... like I said I am brand new to avid and was freaking out for a minute there. I'm sure my workflow and habits would cause a few of you to fall over dead from laughter and/or fright but I'm learning... again thank you very much

Glad you're up and running again. Since as you say you are brand new to Avid, here are some free tutorials from Avid's ALEX online training. You'll find one for XPRO.
