When I have some down time I'm going to upgrade my Avid workstation to 5.8.  However, I noticed that you have to pay for that upgrade.  When I click on the link to pay for the upgrade I'm directed to the Media Composer upgrade.  Since Xpress Pro is no longer being offered in June there is an upgrade to Media Composer.  The computer I work on cannot handle Media Composer since its a dual 1.8, not a 2.0.  How can I obtain the 5.8 update?

In the mean time. The CPU specs for MC and 'Pro are really the same. It's the same software just with some features turned off.

I logged into the product download page and clicked on Xpress Pro Mac, in the Xpress Pro Mac page it states:

" If you would like to run Avid Xpress Pro 5.8.3 and currently run Avid Xpress Pro 5.6 and
below, you will need to purchase an upgrade. Upgrades can be purchased by clicking here."

when I click "clicking here" I'm directed to the Media Composer update.

I'm currently running 5.6.4, and since Xpress Pro is no more I thought I might as well go to 5.8.

My workstation specs are dual 1.8 G5, 3 gig RAM, OSX 10.4.8, GeForce FX 5200 64mb RAM (which I'm upgrading to an ATI 9600 DDR AGP 256mb RAM card since I found out 64mb RAM can't even handle the current system.)

Chris, The store is working correctly. I was able to download the upgrade without a problem.

Thank you.  However, now that I think about it you mentioned earlier that the software between Xpress and Media Composer isn't that different...would it be better for me to just go to Media Composer rather than the Xpress update?
