    Access Violation On Launch

    Hello All,

I was wondering if some one could help me out. I've just installed MC 2.8.1 on a new hpxw8400. I did the full install, updated my dongle (its the Xpress Pro to MC upgrade package) and I keep on getting during the launch of the application "A Access Violation Has Occurred" then it say's the date and time and nothing else. This happens as soon as the it goes threw loading all the driver and plug ins and pop's up with the error as soon as  it say's "Loading" on the splash screen. Here are my computer specs. This is a total fresh install and the dongle is fully updated to MC 2.8 and no mojo or 3rd party I/O box is hooked up during this install. Here are my spec's

HPXW8400 Dual Quad Core 2.66 GHZ (brought right from Avid its self)

    250 Gig Internal Drive

    750 Gig Internal Drive

    1 terrabyte Internal Drive

Please help this is very annoying ....

    Cheers

I'll give that a try in the morning. Thanks. I also forgot to say in the system specs that i'm using Windows XP. So do you think that's all it could be. Sorry 1st time setting up on a PC. Used to Mac's. Thank you for the quick response and I'll let you you know if it works.

    Cheers

Yup, if that's turned on, you "may" get Access Violations.  Worst case, we may need to reset Ownership to Administrators on a few folders ... let us know it goes.
