Just checking the correct import settings for working in a 23.976 project.
Have followed all the good advice and am editing in 23.976 from material accquired in 24P and audio files that are recorded in 24 @ 48.048KHz. Unfortunately no takes thus far have been longer than 1 min so I cannot check sync properly.
I just need to clarify, when importing the audio files what setting and sample rate should I be at to on the Avid to guarantee correct sync match with vision. Do I still need to use the restamp (avid insider) tool to mark the files as 48.048 or can I directly import them? Also if I have some files that were incorrectly recorded at 48khz how do I maintain sync or correct them?
Thanks,
Matt
If the picture was shot at 24.00fps and the sound was recorded in 48048Hz, you should be able to cut in a 23.976p project straight away. I think you need to deselect automatic sample rate conversion in your audio import settings, though.
No need to restamp, since the 48048 will become 48000 in playback, in sync with 23.976 (slowed down) picture.
