    DVCPRO HD capture issue

Hoping someone knows what I'm dealing with here:

I'm trying to capture HD over FW using the Panasonic HD1400. Everything is set up to my Mojo SDI correctly, and I'm able to import over FW at full resolution. However, when I play the clip back, it plays at what looks like twice the regular speed. The audio sounds fine, but picture is a problem. What am I doing wrong here?

    Thanks

Your Mojo does not pass HD footage. It's SD only. Don't know if this is the problem but, when capturing HD over FW, you need to disconnect  the mojo and go into your CPU directly.

It would also help us if you could tell us what project type you are creating and in what format your HD flavor was shot.

    Re: DVCPRO HD capture issue

Good to know. I'll take the Mojo outta the loop, but why does capture tool tell me I've got DVCPRO HD as an option?

Tape is DVCPRO HD 720p (30p) shot on the Panasonic 900

I did just check the "Preserve Varicam Frame" box and now I've got my imported clips playing back at the right speed.

But you're saying that I'm not getting HD here, even if I've got the Mojo "turned off" and am importing thru 1394?

No, that'll do it. IF the Mojo's off, then you're fine.

Yes, with 30p, you have to preserve the varicam frames.
