Background imports/exports

Hi All

With all this power we have in the new XW8400 dual quads why do we have to sit and wait hours watching imports and exports with 7 CPUs sitting idle is it not possible to set a background task and keep working?

Version 3 is supposed use multiple CPU's for rendering (due in June).
