Can I create a new project and load both dvcpro and minidvhd video into it? What project setting should I use?
-Nik
What is "minidvhd"? If your question is really "can I load DVCpro and mini-DV in the same project" then yes you can. Set the project up to match the playout format that you intend using. You may have to do a mixdown or transcode to play out a mixed format timeline.
Yes but DVCPRO and minidv are bascially the same SD format.
Do you mean DVCPRO? DVCPRO 50? DVCPRO 100 (which is HD?)
And for the other do you mean DV (aka mini-ev) or DVCAM? or HDV which is the consumer version of HD shot on a mini dv tape?
Eating is a moral act. If you eat meat from factory farms, you partake in a system of cruelty, violence and evil. Always take sides. To be passive empowers the oppressor.
Guywithcat:Yes but DVCPRO and minidv are bascially the same SD format.
Yes, sorry. I was thinking PAL there. And I think that your guess about HDV is the most likely answer.
Here's what I have to load into the same project: fugifilm DVCPRO, sony Mini DV and sony Mini DV HD. The Mini DV HD tapes are maroon and white and say HD. That's the only difference between my 2 Mini DV tapes. Thank you in advance !
What the tapes say does not matter. What matters is what you put on them. Do you know which camera you used?
No, b/c the tapes are coming from different sources. I didn't shoot any of it and some of it is from 5 years ago. I did research and talked to other editors and I was told I should be fine with a 30i project setting but when I load in my hd video, change the setting inside avid to accomodate. Should work, right? What about when I export my project to sorenson squeeze? Do I have to do any sort of audio/video mixdown? Can I export a timeline with 2 different project settngs?
