We've noticed with MC 2.8.1 that every folder within a project contains a settings folder for each system that connects (named with the Computer Name). I know that these are settings for dedicated to each system within project, but I recall in releases that these folders would only appear on the root level of the project folder.
Now they seem to appearing in EVERY sub folder we create within shared project on Unity. So with 6 systems attached, we get 6 folders of settings in every subfolder.
Supposed to be that way? Is there a setting I'm missing to disable, avoid, or hide?
Thanks, Mike

No, this is pretty routine behavior for Unity, as it must track access and changes to the same project over multiple platforms. You will also see local database files at each platform as well as databases in Unity for the same reason. In addition, you will see folders created in the project window with the names of the various Unity connected platforms that have had access to that project.

True, and I expect that from historical experience. But these settings folders in the project usually only occured in the root level of hte project, not within every sub folder we created. Just seemed odd to need that.
I don't have an explanation for the change of path, other than with the most recent MC software releases, the main path to the project folder has been altered to include the "my documents" folder in the path. Perhaps this is another unexpected change - engineers just love to do that kind of thing. Does it have any negative effect on system performance or response time?
Not necessarily. But it creates extreme clutter in a project that didn't exist before.
Thanks for your feedback, Larry. Much appreciated.
