    1394/DV in/out on Adrenaline

Will 4 pin DV i/o on Adrenaline box take 1394 connection for

    DVCPro HD deck?

I've got a 1080i project and see "no inputs available".

If  I switch format to SD30i, I get the option to control capture via 1394.

Does Adrenaline "DV" i/o not work for DVCPro HD capture?

Um..if memory serves, you have to bypass the DNA to capture DVCPRO HD.

Do you really want to know what's wrong...or do you just want me to fix it?

correct.  can't capture any HD material through the dv port on the Adrenaline.  Need to connect that firewire direct to the computer and switch the Media Composer to 1394 mode

I tried that with same "no available input" result.

Works with my laptop.  Does MCAdrenaline look only at adrenaline

Where if it runs software only on laptop it can see 1394?

    Thanks

Sorry, dumb question, but where in settings do I switch media composer to 1394 mode?

    Thanks

on the top of the timeline there is a button that says DNA if you click that it will change to 1394 or you can go to the Device menu up top and choose 1394.  You can also quit MC and turn off the box and relaunch with it turned off.  The button is essentially disabling the Adrenalilne box

I'd suggest this second solution if you don't have an additional firewire board. Be carful when you hot plug a firewire connector, I have made irreversible damages to our XDCam HD by provoking electric sparkles. This is a solution to avoid this

    Re: 1394/DV in/out on Adrenaline

I have searched the forums and have yet to find an answer for this question and this seems like an approriate thread to follow up in.  Does anyone know how to perform this same function (enable 1394 I/O) on a Symphony Nitris?  It doesn't seem to be the same method as with MC Adrenaline and I cannot seem to figure it out.  TIA!

AFAIK (according to stuff I have read) Symphony Nitris did not support 1394 capture.

This functionality will be added in an upcoming release, though.

out of curiosity, why not just capture DVCPRO HD via HD SDI? FW is irritating with things like this

HP XW8400 Dual, Dual Core; 4 TB Dulce RAID 5; 3GB Ram; XPRO (latest version); AJHD 1400; HP XW8400 Dual, Dual Core; 7 TB G-TECH RAID 5 (2 encl); 3GB... [view my complete system specs]
