    P2 help

I have p2 footage shot as 720pN 29.97.  Avid support says this is "inherently" HDV res. and that the symph nitris can not handle this "lesser quality" HD footage!  What!!??  We shot to be hi quality and no other system (FCP) has any touble with the mxf files nor do we see anywhere that this is HDV. even so what the F$#% Avid?  If I had not "upgraded" my MC to Symph Nitris I would be editing right now rather than this.  As I understand shooters are shooting this setting to get more record time out of the P2 card.  Is there anyway to get my symph to see this footage??

FCP isn't perfect with P2 either.

    Re: P2 help

    720 30pN should play in a 1080i 59.94/30i project.

But because DVCProHD, including P2 uses a Thin Raster it will have to be transcoded to DNxHD to play without dropping frames.
