AndrewAction:"when I'm trying to convert from quick time format(*mov) to mpeg" Is this a QT reference movie? or a full QT movie? Can you play the QT movie right through in a QT player? Are you PAL or NTSC?What version of Avid and QT are you using?
yup..QT reference movie..PAL..I'm not sure the version of avid and QT..what actually the problem?
the version of QT?..plzzz???
AndrewAction:As it is a QT reference movie I would think duplicating your sequence, doing a video mixdown of the new sequence and editing this mixdown back into the top empty track of the sequence will solve the problem. Then select the video track with the mixdown on and your audio tracks and mark In at the start of the sequence and Out at the end. Export as a QT reference making sure to select "Use enabled tracks" and "Use marks" The resultant file SHOULD encode properly. If there are still problems you will need to give the of Avid version number and the version of Quicktime you are running
hai..
I still have the problem..I do the video mixdown and edited in top empty track. Then I select the video track and mark in/out by selecting "Use enable track" and "Use marks"..there is no problem when convert in QT ref format, but the problem is when I try to convert QT ref (mov format) to mpeg/avi..By using the canopus procoder the conversion only in 5 minutes (about 288mb) then an error occur..I use avid 3.0 version and Quick Time 7.0..any idea???Plzzz help me...10q

I dont know what else to do.. im triyng one more time and then im gona use sorenson wich i never used before.
thank you
Have you done a video mixdown?
Have you duplicated the timeline and edited the video mixdown into it? (so there are no original video clips left in the timeline)
Do you do an audio mixdown when you export to QT reference?
ProCoder 3 worked here with MC 2.8 (using MC2.8's recommended version of Quicktime.)
ProCoder 3 also works here with both MC 3 and MC 4 and the version of Quicktime recommended for them.
You could try re installing the latest Avid Codecs. About a month back there was a whole new release of these including updates for versions of MC prior to MC3
where can i find these updates? its tricky for me to messe with avid, i cant even update my windows or avid goes puff. and now this.
i mixdown audio but not video. im lost..
I do a Video mixdown and put it in a new sequence with the audio BEFORE I export a Quicktime reference. My aim is to make sure there is no original video clips in the timeline of any formats that may confuse the encoding program (ProCoder)
When I export the QT reference I select the option to mixdown the audio (only)
This gives me two files. A very small "title".mov (this just points ProCoder at the Avid Video mixdown file) and a relatively large "title".wav I KNOW both of files have appropriate codecs on the Avid machine so ProCoder SHOULD not have any problems with them
The new Avid Codecs are here http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=290337&Hilite=
