Seems DX generation will kill it !

Which is not so weird, considering Adrenaline is a pretty old product. I don't think ABVB lasted 5 years, I think Adrenaline was introduced 5 years after the introduction of Meridien.
And the new DX boxes seem to give you choice. Not sure what a Mojo DX looks like, but it could well be a good substitute for an Adrenaline. Plus MC users may choose to use Nitris DX rather, without going Symphony. Still not sure how MC-NitrisDX and SymphonyNitrisDX will compare, price wise and feature wise.
And the website mentions a price that puts SNDX around the same price point as MCA-HD when it was introduced.
Here's another interesting article.

This is good news for my post house. We are looking to start HD onlines sometime early this fall. I'm glad to hear this news. I'd love to start seeing some price points for the Mojo DX, and I'd love to see some new tech specs on system configurations. I guess people can stop asking if it will Avid will run on Vista now.
My guess would be if Adrenaline survives, Avid will finally include the uncompressed HD board that was initially mentioned several NABs ago.
The line would be
Mojo
Mojo DX
Adrenaline (with PCI-e uncompress HD option?)
Nitris DX
Nitris
DQS

Adrenaline can't survive with DX breathing down its neck...at last the bottle neck of firewire is gone! The curse of every DNA product. Lovely PCIe here we come!
I wonder wat will be on www.avid.com early next week?
Avid will be hosting a customer function in Las Vegas on Sunday night, and I'm sure all of the news will break on Monday.
Stay tuned...there will be alot to talk about next week!

Could be.
My guess would be if Adrenaline survives
The article is pretty clear: no more Adrenaline If you look at the quoted alledged pricing of Symphony Nitris, it would seem to me that MCA can be replaced by either MC-Mojo DX or MC-Nitris DX, at a fair price. That pretty much rules out the necessity of Adrenaline-with-Uncompressed-HD-board.
Job, I did say 'if' and the article is a blog (aka always take it with a grain of salt until official announcement).
I am 90% sold on the idea that Adrenaline is dead. HOWEVER...
1. What happens to the current Adrenaline user base? Trade ups are always nice.
2. Depending on Mojo DX pricing, you can have a huge hole in the Avid product line. [EDITED by Moderator]
3. Avid uncompressed HD is still not until at [EDITED by MODERATOR]
[NOTE: Discussion or speculation of prices of new hardware is not allowed until Avid makes the official announcement next week.]
TVFilmDirector:I would say that the Adrenaline will go the way of the paper weight.
Meaning it will be a staple on everyones desk? Being extremely useful and cheap.

Buying an Adrenaline now obviously is a bad idea. But it's not like suddenly ever Adrenaline already in use around the world is going to stop working. They'll still work and they'll still do the job they were doing just fine. I mean look at how many Meridian systems are still out there in use. Plenty of post houses are going to keep using the adrenalines they own and continue to make money doing so. There's no need to dump them just to buy the new equipment. Of course if you do decide to dump one, and it's cheap, give me shout.
Dom - you are missing a model - is that creating your hole?

Where did TVFilmDirector's post go? did it get moderated for mentioning price?
EDIT_
Nevermind. I see the moderating is happening.
Hey guys,
Obviously the cat is out of the bag with the reports of the new product line. I wasn't at the meeting last night, but prices were NOT supposed to be mentioned, and until Avid has an official release on this, we cannot allow any speculation as to the prices of the new products.
On Sunday night, and probably Monday sometime online, Avid will make this information public. Until then, you can talk all you want about the new hardware, but DO NOT talk about prices, or I'll have to delete the thread.
Thanks for your understanding.
