We currently have Boris RED 4 for AVX 2 as well as the standalone RED 4 engine installed on two of our MC Meridiens (software V12.0.5) and one of our MC Adrenalines (software V2.2.6). I have been told that Boris RED has a 4.2 free upgrade out. Has Avid qualified that version for our systems? If so, would the upgrade be worth while getting?
We run 4.2 on MCA 2.8, and it works great. I don't know what the upgrade will get you. On the Creative Cow Boris forum there's a Boris employee, Peter McAuley, who monitors it and will tell you if it's worth while.

Thanks, Dan. I'll try that. Since our MC software is so old, I am afraid there might be compatibility problems.
Yeah I'd be affraid too w/MCA 2.2.6 He'd know if you'd be OK to upgrade. You guys shoud go to 2.8 if your machine will handle it.
I'm sure 2.8 would be better, but it's a cost issue here. We would have to pay for that upgrade.
