We're shooting on XDCam at 23.976, but having the deck create the pulldown on output for editing at 30i. The problem is audio was recored on Sound Device's 744 at 23.976. What is the best workflow for matching the frame rate for multi-grourping. We're on Adrinaline 2.8. What is the workflow for importing the 744 into the avid.
Thanks
The recommended workflow for SD post is to record sound at 29.97fps with 30NDF timecode...
When you import the BWF files, what are you selecting for frame rate and format? Try the above combo and see what you get. Sync will be fine.

We're on Adrenaline 2.8.0 on Macs. We're in a 30i project with the XD deck doing the pulldown from 23.98. The audio was recorded on a 744 at 23.98...how can I do a audio pulldown? when I import the BWF's Avid asks if I want 30 or 29.97 df or nd...is this in effect a pulldown?
thank you
There is a little semantics issue going on here. so just to be clear we are all saying the same thing. "Pulldown" in the past also referred to the fact that 24fps material was "pulled down" to 23.976 which resulted in a change of speed as well as having a 2:3 insertion. In your case, the material was already at a 23.976 speed, so all the deck is doing in adding the 2:3 insertion to create 59.94 fields. The speed has not changed. So in general terms. you have always been in a puled down state.
So the audio being recorded at 23.976fps is also in that state so sync will not be an issue - 48khz will remain. no speed change at all. When prompted, select 29.97 and NDF. In the future we will be adding a 23.976 and 24 to the selection box. but the 23.976 and 29.97 are very similar since they are in the same "pulled down" family. Timecode will be +/- a few frames because of the 24/30 math and it to be expected. But will play in sync once claps are lined up.
