Mac Dual 2.5 PPC G5 - 3.5 GB SDRAM - Mojo - Just upgraded to MC 2.8, OSX 10.4.11
After deleting a mass amount of media (approx 500GB) from my 1.5TB Raid drive, the program is now aborting and freezing when trying to capture to that drive and other external FW drives.
1. I rebuilt the msm files in both MXF and OMF folders and restarted the program with no change.
2. Tried rebuilding and capturing to other external FW drives with no change.
3. Upgraded from 2.7.7 to 2.8 with no change.
4. Upgraded OSX from 10.4.9 to 10.4.11 with no change.
5. I can capture through the mojo to an internal drive with no problem so I obviously have an issue with the external FW and Raid drives. Again, they all worked and nothing changed other than deleting the media.
I have not tried to trash the user settings yet since I can't image why that would cause the problem.
I really appreciate this forum, especially for the "self taught" Avid users like myself. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I apologize if this is an obvious fix. I did search the threads and could not find a solution that I had not already tried.
Most editors I know of are 'self-taught', at least to some degree. That's what you're doing here, teaching yourself stuff.
That said some of the first things that I picked up from tech suppport on my first job as an assistant were;
in case of inexplicable error, trash mcstate.
If that doesn't work, try a new user.
One of these options will often fix a surprising variety of problems.
