    Training Software

I was also wondering if anyone has had any success running the DS training software on a MacBook Pro in either Parallels or Boot Camp.

This question was already posted a week or two ago (by someone else), but no one answered it. Hopefully someone will answer this one.  Smile

    Thanks,

    Re: Training Software

If I remember correctly, one of the Softimage guys was running it on his MacBook at NAB last year.

    Re: Training Software

    Boot camp only.

Parallels "virtualizes" the hardware and, to the extent the software running on Windows needs direct access to the hardware on your machine, it does not work well. Parallels only opens up 64M of VRAM to whatever is running in Windows, so anything you are doing that requires more VRAM will certainly crash. You're also limited to 2G of system RAM that can be seen by Windows -- even if you have a desktop model with 16G.

The MacBook Pro you saw running DS Training Software last year was using Boot Camp. Parallels wasn't working yet.
