    second monitor to match MBP

    Hey everyone,

I'd like to get a second monitor to edit on Avid with along side my 15" mac book pro. Max resolution is 1440x900 also I find the display to be better then the typical $120-300 monitors. I'm not interested in the 20" by apple - too big of difference. I'm looking for a widescreen 17" that is comparable if not equal to my MBP  screen.

    Any suggestions??

Are you concerned about cost or compatibility? I run a 20" Dell on my MBP (mostly with the lid shut but works equally well as second monitor). Very nice looking and inexpensive.

Mac: 2.33Ghz Macbook Pro, OS 10.5.3, 3GB RAM, analogue Mojo 120GB internal HD, Sony DSR-45P deck, etc etc [view my complete system specs]

I would like to use them side by side and make sure the quality is equal! The Mac 20" screen is old tech and 700:1 contrast is a dissapointment! I found a dell 20" but not up or down adjustments just tilt :(
