Displaying Timecode over Video within Sequence

Take advantage of the timecode plugin available in the Illusion FX category of Avid Effects. If you would like to have timecode of the sequence displayed on the playback, create a new video track, and apply the effect to it. Avid Xpress systems will require the user to add an edit to the track in order to apply the effect to the filler track. This will display the sequence timecode over the video. If you would like the timecode to display for each individual clip in the sequence, the effect must be applied to each clip separately. Note: The timecode plugin is a Non-Real-Time effect and will need to be rendered in order to play back.

Re: Displaying Timecode over Video within Sequence

Is there any possibility to reverse the timecode (in AVID Xpress Pro HD 5.2.1.), counting down to zero?

    Thanks a lot!

You could create a green background, super the BITC, mixdown, reverse, chromakey.

    Hi,

In addition to Job's excellent suggestion, you could also lay in the timecode effect, mixdown, reverse and PiP.  Smile

    good luck,

Agreed, Carl, but that is assuming a TC window with a solid background, rather than just the counter. Although you could luma key that in combination with the PIP.

Re: Displaying Timecode over Video within Sequence

Is it possible to make the window and font bigger than what is available in the FX Parameter drop down menu? I am working with DNxHD 145 media (including FX media creation) and after rendering the window is so small it is unreadable. I just updated my profile--am now using MC 2.8.1 and have added 2 raid-striped internal drives to my system.

I believe the RT TC effect included in v3.0 allows you to change font style and size.
