I shot a doc in NTSC HDV. I trancoded to DNX while capturinge in MC soft.
I'm at the point where I wanted to make a few SD DVD screeners of my show.
So I ran a few tests.
I grabbed a few minutes of the show and exported as DNX, I then imported (testing) outputs from both QT Pro and Procoder 2, in the attempt to create an Mpeg conversion that I could bring into DVDit5....interesting - massive colour shifts. HUGE not suttle!
What workflows are you all enjoying when you shoot in HD and output SD DVDs for screeners?

Hi, what program are you using to mke your final DVD from the results of procoder
Cheers

I will typically drop the format to 30i NTSC and mixdown my video to 2:1 (1:1 errors in Avid DVD). I then Send To > DVD > DVD Authoring. Once that opens within Avid DVD I change my end action and Burn.

I mixdown my sequence to one big DNxHD blob, then take a QT Ref (with audio mixed down on export) into TMPGEnc Xpress and do the highest quality 2 pass VBR I can. Then I author in Encore. Haven't been doing it very long but the results so far look great.
Must be something about this side of the planet, but that's pretty much my workflow too, except that I use Squeeze. However that may change soon.
