Download Goodies - how to install plug-ins?

My appologies if it's posted somewhere... since the forum change I find it more difficult to search for answers.

In the download package (4.8.1 and now 4.8.2) there is the folder "Goodies". I unpacked the included plugins and put them in the Avid plug-ins folder. The effects don't show in the effect window, though. How are they supposed to be installed? There are no directions in the Read Me file. Also, should they have the extension "avx" or the one they seem to have when upacked "bundle"? And what's the difference between the two folders that Avid creates on install for its plug-ins? I have AVX_Plug-Ins and AVX2_Plug-Ins.

    Thank you.

    "Not sure on the Mac..."

Any Mac users? Are those plug-ins even functional?

I never get those Plugins to work. I would like to get the blur working. The DVDSP script never worked for me either.

Marianna? Any suggestions? After all, if the goodies are included they should be functional, shouldn't they?
    Thanks.

Re: Download Goodies - how to install plug-ins?

I am bumping this because I saw the DVDSP script in the 4.0.2 install and - like the others here - can not figure out how to use it.

    HELP!

If it is a plug in, it goes in the AVX folder in the Avid Media Composer folder (Can't remember if it's in Supporting files or Settings) if it's AVX1 and in the Library>Applications Support>Avid>AVX2 folder if it's AVX2.

Re: Download Goodies - how to install plug-ins?

If it's a script it will show up as a shortcut on the File menu under Send to.  But if you're referring to Media Composer 4.0.2 be aware that this ended up in the Xpress Pro forum.

Re: Download Goodies - how to install plug-ins?

Yep, I realize it is in a potentialy backwater forum, but the point remains:

The contents of the goodies folders needs more instructions.

And where do I put the script so it will show up?

It goes into the Scripts folder inside the Media Composer application folder.  It will add "Send to DVD Studio Pro" to your Send to... selections on your File menu within Media Composer.

    Thanks,

I thought I had tried that.  I will check again.
