Hi there,
Wanted to know that how to enable the chunking option from a MC? My organization has 4 ingest airspeeds, when all 4 are occupied we're grabbing footage from MC directly and pushing to ISIS. I'm not able to use the frame chase edit function because unless I stop capturing a clip its not updated on the Interplay.
The MC version is 2.6.6 Help would be appreciated.
Cheers

I think you did not understand my question. I meant while ingesting from Media Composer to ISIS directly, bypassing the airspeed, do I get chunking option? Its nothing to do with interplay version. When I ingest using the airspeed the chunking option works absolutely fine!!!
Hello,
Frame Chase Editing from an ingesting editor (known as Chunking in the OMF world) is new functionality (MXF) that was introduced with Interplay 1.1 and Media Composer 2.7.
You can capture from an Interplay enabled editing client to share storage and after about a minute is captured, the other workgroup clients can access the incoming media as it becomes available.

Jay
Well may be we've got MC 2.6.6...thats the reason we're not able to achive that function on MC. Any idea how stable is MC 2.7? Heard it is in it's intial stage and lots of bugs around???!!!
Cheers!
It isn't necessary to wait since you can download 2.7.2 or 2.7.2. If you are on 2.6.6, contact your Avid rep and make sure you aren't breaking your bundle. In otherwords, if you have interplay 1.0, don't expect it to be 100% compatible with the latest and greatest editing version. Double check with your Avid rep. Last thing you want is to take down your system because you got ahead of the right version.
That said, the process (from the help menu):
Enabling Frame Chase Capture
You use options in the Capture Settings dialog box to enable Frame Chase capture and to set both the default clip length and the interval for updates to Interplay.
To enable and set options for Frame Chase capture:
1.
In the Settings tab of the Project window, double-click Capture.
2.
Click the MXF Media Files tab.
3.
Select options as described in the following table, and then click OK.
Option
Description
Maximum (default) capture time
Type a number in the text box. This number defines the expected duration in minutes for a Frame Chase clip that you create during on-the-fly or open-ended capture (that is, when no IN and OUT marks are set in the Capture tool).
During capture, clip is updated in Interplay
When this option is selected, Frame Chase capture is enabled. An initial check-in takes place 10 seconds after a capture begins. Subsequent Interplay updates occur at intervals defined by the Update Interval option.
Update Interval
Select an update interval from the menu to determine how frequently updates to Interplay occur during the capture.
In most circumstances it is preferable to keep the update interval low (1 minute or 2 minutes). This ensures that information added during capture (for example, comments or locators) is available as quickly as possible.
