Hi,

I know that at the current stage Liquid is not supported on Vista but I was wondering if there is a hack/patch/or anything else for my dilemma:

- The Liquid 7.2 works on my brandy new and shiny Dell with Vista preloaded, however, one I click on Burn to DVD the application exists with the fatal error. Beside this, so far 7.2 works great in other areas.

Please advice.

While this doesn't fix Liquid, you could just export to an AVI and use a MPEG encoder/burner.  There are many free/cheap ones.  You may already have one preloaded if your computer came with a DVD burner.  Many Liquid users still do this for additional DVD features/quality.

Liquid 7.2 burns DVD's just wonderfull.

Liquid isn't working on Vista and everyone doing this, takes its own risks.

I just tested this with a sequence on Vista 64 and Liquid 7.2, and it burned the DVD correctly, no crashes. However there is slighty annoying window that may appear during the process that says it trying to install something, just ignore that and burns just like from XP.

As for the little "Installing" something Window that appears during the burn process, I believe that is Liquid trying to reinstall the Lower Filter onto the DVD interrupt handler that I purposely deleted during the install process (as described in my Vista 64 and Liquid install procedure).

As for your crash, I suspect you are using Vista 32. Vista 32 does not have same protections against installing incompatible drivers like Vista 64 does. I suspect the bogus Lower Filter driver was installed and "MAY" be causing your crash. If you have at look at Vista 64 Liquid Install procedure I wrote you can see how to check and remove it. You might want to try that and see if your crash fatal error goes away. Also try burning to Video Ts Folder only and see if that works. You didn't provide any details about what you were actually trying and there is a lot of potential variables there.

Bottom line with Vista 64 you can Burn to DVD from Liquid if you follow the directions I gave. So far I have not seen anything that won't work on Vista 64 with Liquid expect the BOB (and I don't have one to test with anyways).

Had a note from another user today who followed my procedure to install Liquid on Vista 64 and they reported they were also able to burn DVD's from Liquid. It's almost looking like Vista 64 is better for Liquid than Vista 32 thanks to extra protections built in for security. Anyways if you could post some more details on your error we might be able to help correct the situation.

It was easier to correct this than I thought. I have enabled "Administrative Privileges" for LE 7.2 and DVD burning started to work immediately - I guess it was all about lack of proper privileges.

BTW, I am running LE 7.2 (clean/full update) on Vista 32-bit. I am staying away from 64-bit Vista as there are plenty of driver and application problems on that platform.

The lack of drivers and application issues on 64 bit Vista have been blown way out of proportion. I have moved all apps (a very long list) over to Vista 64 and they all work. All my devices are up and running correctly without issue. With almost all devices if there is a Vista 32 driver it will work 64 as well.

Vista 64 is not XP 64. Xp 64 driver avialability was rather bad. Vista 64 is almost as good or the same as Vista 32. Driver issues/app issues are not a reason to not go to Vista 64, although that is a personal choice.

The Liquid Pro BOB will not work.  That would be a big deal to me and other Liquid Pro owners which can't be "blown out of proportion."  It would break Liquid Pro not to be able to use the Pro BOB.

It is misleading and inappropriate to tell Liquid Pro users that there are no driver issues with Vista.
