    Settings for Liquid DVD authoring

In order to import a converted NTSC MPEG2 file from Canopus 2 into Liquid 7.2, so in order to make a DVD menue and then burn the DVD-R, without the need for Liquid to reconvert the whole thing but just leave it as it is, what settings does one need to set in Canopus to get the correct output? Anyone experience with that? It seems, my Liquid wants to recode the film, but that would mean a second pass, which I obviously want to avoid.
The guys from Canopus just told me to make an ISO MPEG file and set the settings, but which are best for Liquid, cause I have read in the specifications, that Liquid does natively MPEG2 IBP (MP@ML/HL) , but with reencoding MPEG2 IBP (MP@ML) That sounds strange to me...?!

Re: Settings for Liquid DVD authoring

I believe the only way to avoid a transcoding is a third party Author App such as DVDit or DVDLab. If the total video audio stream does not exceed 9.8 mbs, encoding should not be required, providing the program length does not exceed the storage capacity of the DVD media.

Re: Settings for Liquid DVD authoring

Thanks! Now I tried some options myself. It works importing to Canopus, then for target one chooses DVD, NTSC Masterquality, changes in the settings to "generic ISO file" and can manipulate the various settings. I just used closed gops, vid rate of 6000 and highest rate of 7000, 16X9 of course, closed gops, but whats most important changed the result file from m2v, which Liquid did not want to accept at all to a mpg file. I do changes of file extentions in my ftp program, cause I still don't know how else to manipulate endings of files in Windows otherwise, yet...
Now it works in Liquid without conversion or rerendering. Interesting enough Liquid did not show mpg extention as a file option to import, but all sorts of other figures.
