Probably no sooner then a new release and might not be the next one. Takes time to undo such an error and when it is scheduled to late it will have to wait until the next release. I am clearly NOT stating it will NOT be in the next release though!!!

Working on it but I am not sure if it will make the next one. That closed in beta so I think it is frozen and now just being testing.

We did solve a few with strange setups and once we deep drilled the setup a few are working. Again, this thread has a few different issues so I am trying to keep them seperate.

Back when I know......... should be when I see the readMe for the next release as that will tel me if it made it.

5.7.2 is here and still a Avid didn't fix this bug how much time do we need to wait for this fixed ?

.x releases are started quite early and when a problem comes up it might not be added to the list right away. There are priority lists and this one did not make this .x release... it will be the next probably.. ...

I hope that Avid understand that they are losing money over this bug , as this is the only reason that i am now buying the new version 5.7 and i am sure that i am not the only one.
that have made this decision based on that bug.

So I hope that it will be in the next release so i will be able to purchase the new version.

This is also a problem with other decks used as "pass-through" converters from analog sources such as the DSR-45. Little help, soon?

What about using a transcoder like the Canopus ADVC 100 or 300? DO these pass the audio through?

Well, I had same problem here: After the upgrade from 5.2.4 to 5.7.2, no audio when feeding through the ProMax DA-MAX+ transcoder. I traditionally had the deck controlled directly from the Avid through RS-422. My new workaround is to control the deck through the Firewire connection to the transcoder and then from the transcoder's RS-422 to the deck. Voila, it comes with audio!
