Error states "An unexpected error occurred while importing Quicktime Audio Tracks. The imported tracks may be unusable. Would you like to continue the import?
If I continue, it imports the file as a 30 sec silent audio clip with the same name of the file.

Yes, we do. Where does this file originate? In what codec was it created? What are the audio specs for your project? 44.1?48k?

What OS are you using on that G4?

Re: "unexpected error occurred while importing Quicktime Audio Tracks"

I've had the same problems. I'm using Academic Avid Xpress Pro 5.7 on a 2GHz IMac OS 10.4.8. My project specs are 48k and 16bit, but I've set my import settings for everything I import to be changed to the project setting. I'm not sure what a codec is, but the files are wavs from a digital hard disk recorder. Please help!

Make sure you've got the correct version of Quicktime installed. For 4.3.1 you need something ancient like 7.0.3. Check the read me that came with your release.

Those .wav files should just import as audio files, not Quicktimes. Can you play them in QuickTime player?

Must think of something clever to go here...

Gillian, Try opening the wavs in iTunes? Does that work? If so, convert them in iTunes to .aiff and try thin import again.
