Hello,As for now, we retrieve the AAF file created by AMT3 at the end of the generation of our MXF targets. Two questions:
1) Can we configure the AMT3 to create this AAF file sooner (i.e. at the beginning of target creation)? The goal here is to manage EWC (edit while capture) workflows.2) How to retrieve the AAF content? Previously in AMT2, there was a handy function GetUpdatedAaf, which could be called anytime. Is there any equivalent in AMT3?Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi ValentinDesplanque,
Re 1: When configured for EWC support, AMT3 handles EWC AAF check-in for you. AAFs will be provided as soon as they are available to minimze latency. The notification mechanism currently supports Interplay Web Services (IPWS); just configure an IPWS end point and the check-in frequency and everything should be automatic from there.
Re 2: The only mechanism that is currently available is what I described above. Since notifications are 'pluggable' we could consider offering 'local' notification endpoint that would give you an AAF. Another extension to be considered is a CTMS notifier now that CTMS has the required capabilities.
I will follow up on whether there is an out-of-band mechanism for retrieving AAFs available in the AMT3 configuration. Please check back on this thread.
Hello Andy,
Thanks for the reply. A notification endpoint or any similar mechanism is exactly what we need. Could you elaborate on the "CTMS" notifier, how does it work?
Hi Valentin, sorry if I wasn't clear.
We do not have a CTMS notifier yet since the ability to check in AAFs through CTMS became available only recently. Currently your only option is a IPWS (web services) notifier.
Hope this helps
Andy
Andy,To make things clear: are you saying we need to implement a pseudo Interplay WebService on our end, just for the sake of retrieving the AAF posted by the AMT? Can you confirm it is the only way? (please note that in our workflows, we can't have the AMT handle check-ins on its own, as you suggested in your previous reply)What would be great instead, would be some sort of "notifier" to which we could register a callback, to call as soon as the AAF is available. Thanks
