    Export settings for 4K

Hello all,  I need a little help here.  I am just a hobbies but just edit my first 4K project in Media Composer 2019.7. Before I edit I transcoded my footage to DNXHR 59.97 UHD 3840x2160.  I want to export it so I can stream it on my Plex media server. Is there workflow were I can down-converter to 1920x1080p or just export it as 3840x2150.  I using mostly PC windows  computers.

    Re: Export settings for 4K

    You're asking two separate questions.

Yes, you can export to any resolution you like.  The easient way to switch between UHD and HD is to simply change the project resolution under settings.

Plex requires either h.264 files or h.265 files in .mp4 containers.  Avid does not do h.265 and is kind of clunky at h.264 -- so export as .mxf then re-encode through a 3rd part encoder such as Adobe Media Encoder of TMPGenc Video Master Works.
