MC 2019.X - Segment Tool with TC-Track Bug?

    Hello,

since 2019.X I am observing a strange and annoying behaviour.

I often have to use the Segment Tool and move clips around. So I am zooming in, scrolling through my timeline and moving clips around. For example I am moving music clips down to seperatly export them later.

As soon as I am clicking in the TC Track to place my timeline curser head new, the timeline jumps back to the curser, which often is somewhere at the beginning. This interrupts the whole process.

This is annoying and new in 2019.X. Could this be a Bug or is this a desired behaviour?

    Doyle

I created a case for this and have asked support to check it....   03767350   IMO is not not desired behavior so lets see what they say after confering with engineering.

Most likely related: If you are anywhere in the timeline with the timeline indicator being off display, activating a segment tool (by shortcut or mouseclick) will make the timeline jump to where the indicator is.

Re: MC 2019.X - Segment Tool with TC-Track Bug?

Ok, did some tests and worked it out.

Switching forth and back to the Segment Tool is the general problem. Placing the cursor somewhere at the beginning, scrolling to the end and switiching to the tool lets the timline view jump back to the cursor.

With the activated timeline setting „Clicking TC Track or Ruler Disables Smart Tool“ you also switch the tool by cliclking in the TC-track, so the view jumps back again. Deactivating this setting helps. You can now click in the TC-track and the view stays.

But I think jumping by switching tools is not right at all.
