2018.12.2 Media Composer ScriptSync Error: Machine has not been authorized

    Hi team,

Updated one of our test machines today to the new 2018.12.2 release hoping that scriptsync would be fixed, but we're still havning issues.

The client is an iMac Pro running Mac OS Mojave 10.14.3 and Avid Media Composer Ultimate 2018.12.2.

When attempting to scriptsync, the client get's the error:

    Error syncing "SCRIPT NAME"

This machine has not been authorized.

    Continue?

    Yes/No

Link to the error message screengrab: https://i.imgur.com/6hhA8lA.png

If the user clicks either Yes or No, nothing happens.

    Thanks

    Derek

The SS is already activated in this machine?

    Hi Ralph,

Yes, scriptsync is showing active in avid link (it’s an ultimate license). I’ve also manually deactivated and reactivated a few times to no avail. I did a full u install and removal of the /Library/Application Support/Avid folder as well during the uninstall/reinstall.

    Thanks

Re: 2018.12.2 Media Composer ScriptSync Error: Machine has not been authorized

I’ve been working with support and it looks like we’ve isolated the issue to something with Mojave. It’s reproducable on all our Mojave machines, but High Sierra ones are unaffected. Unfortunately our Mojave machines are new iMac pros which can’t be downgraded thanks to their T2. I’ll update when I have more info. Thanks!

Did you get this resolved? We're having the same issue. It shows as 'activated' in AVID Link.

Re: 2018.12.2 Media Composer ScriptSync Error: Machine has not been authorized

We had to downgrade our systems to High Sierra. If you’re on an iMac Pro or other T2 equippeed system that the model supports high Sierra, you can follow the instructions at https://nerdypup.com/downgrading-imac-pro-to-high-sierra/ to do so.

Supposedly the issue has been fixed in Avid MC 2018.12.5 under Mojave that was released yesterday, but my test systems are seeing a big performance hit with that update so I’m holding off.
