W7 freezes while installing Madia Composer First (PACE 3.1.3)

Hi there, I'm trying to install Media Composer / First but while PACE 3.1.3. is being installed, my computer freezes and the oonly thing I can do is to press the reset button. IS there anything somebody can recommend? Thanks.

    Hello,

Did you extract the downloaded files before installing MC? I recommend you extract to C: temporarily disable firewall and antivirus might help

    Thanks,

Hi Ralph and thank you for your help. It worked. Yeah I had extracted the files and disabling the antivirus and the firewall allowed me to cpmplete the installation ( it didn't hang on the PACE 3.1.3) But then I had another problem; it would not log into my account and it showed an unknown error. Some files were corrupted and the application manager wouldn't work. I unistalled everything, wiped the lot from my drives and started again from scratch, downloading the application again, this time with the antivirus and firewall off and it worked; at 4  o'clock this morning I did my first project. :) I'll have to learn to use it now. I have a crack copy of Premiere Pro on my other computer, which works very well but I want to move away from crack versions, hopefully Media Composer will be a good replacement for it.

    Thanks again

    Pieter.
