Idea [I] 2018 MacBooks w/10.13.6 not qualified yet.

    Hey everyone....

The new 2018 Macbook Pro's are out with 10.13.6 and will NOT work with Media Composer 2018.7.1.

Usually the user will get the following error " 'Exception: std::exception, what: Failed to change priority"

We are aware and hardware engineering is testing these machine's and once completed, they will be added to the qualified list.

Until that time, everyone be advised that we don’t support these machines yet.

Arrrrghh... I got bit by this on my trash can. Composer works, but it's unhinged my DNxIO.

Different issue.  The issue Marianna speaks of is only related to the 2018 MacBook Pros.  Your issue is likely the BMD driver.  Update to 10.10.1.

    Hope that helps,

    Robert

I found a slove-- deleted all the MC State and preferences. It reconnected. It was definitely an Avid problem, I had full control of the DNxIO from the OS level.

Hey Michael, Can you tell me where i can find the MC State and preferences? I have this exact problem and need to be editing ASAP but I don't really understand how all the files work and are connected. Would really appreciate if you could walk through what you did to get your's working. Thanks so much!

Applications (folder)>> Avid Media Composer (folder)>> Settings

    Delete:

    MCState and re-launch.

If that doesn't solve it, then delete everything in the folder and re-launch.

If that doesn't solve it, then delete everything in the folder again and download and re-install MC.

That WILL solve it for sure.

    Hi Johnny,

New MacBooks and iMac’s: The new 2018 MacBook Pros and iMac’s do NOT currently work with MC 2018.7. Engineering has already made a fix to address this problem in Media Composer 2018.8 and with this version, you can now launch Media Composer on the new 2018 Mac’s. However, this is a “use at own risk” scenario as Avid has just received our 2018 Mac’s and have started qualification testing but not finished yet. Once they have been qualified, you will be notified.
