How to add 'Mute Clip' and 'Unmute Clip' to Keyboard?

Could anyone please tell me how to, if it's possible, add the Mute Clip and Unmute Clip commands to the Keyboard in MC8.4?

    Thanks!

You can use "Menu to Button Reassignment" in the Command Palette.

The Mute/Unmute Clip commands are under the Timeline menu.

I'll give this a try, but this would only give me the option to have a clickable button for the commands, correct?

How would I then add the Mute/Unmute commands to a keyboard button? I don't see Mute/Unmute listed anywhere on the command palette commands.

    Thanks.

You can map any menu command to any keyboard button OR any button within the interface.

    1. Open your Keyboard Setting.
    2. Open the Command Palette and make sure "Menu to Button Reassignment" is active.
    3. The cursor, when hovering over the keyboard setting, will change to a little menu icon. Click the key you want to assign the function to.
    4. Go to Timeline > Mute Clips. When you release the button, you'll see MC assigned to that button.
    5. Repeat for Unmute. You'll see UC assigned to that button.

To add to that... if you want to use the same button for both mute and unmute, you can hold "shift" to add the second one to the same button and then also use shift+button to use that second command.

I do a lot of opposite commands on my kb using the shift, so all my marks turn to unmark if I use shift with them. It's a very handy way to add a lot more to the kb in a logical fashion.
