Bug: Master bus compressor causes track compressor sidechain to fail

Good news is that sidechaining now works in the Dyn3 track compressor.

Bad news is that if you have a Dyn3 compressor on the master bus for that sequence, the key input on the track compressor is ignored whenever the sequence is reloaded.

    MC 8.6.5

    — if you don’t know what sidechaining is - it means that the compression on 1 track (eg music) can be affected by the output level of another (eg voice) - aka ‘auto-ducking’ —

    Hi Trevor,

       I created a case for this 03495901.

    Thanks,

This is a test. Media Composer 8.8 w/Symphony option, HP Envy 17t-j100 Quad Edition laptop, Windows 10 Pro, Intel Core i7 2.4GHz, 16 GB RAM, nVidia GeForce... [view my complete system specs]

Re: Bug: Master bus compressor causes track compressor sidechain to fail

    Thanks Ralph

Heres another one - currently the key track (sidechain source) must be outputting to master bus for compression to be triggered. It does not compress if that track is muted or disabled or the track with compression is soloed.

Thus checking the compression can only be done as part of the mix.

And I can’t create a ‘ghost’ track (duplicating a muted version of the key (voice) track and sliding it earlier so that the sidechain ‘looks ahead’ for smoother auto-ducking)
