    PC Components

    Hi,

I am considering updating my Mac Avid system with a PC.  Does anyone have an experience/ thoughts on these components?

    AMD Ryzen Threadripper- 16 core

    NVIDIA GEFORCE 1080ti or Titan.

I realize these are not Avid approved, just looking at my options/cost.  I often edit and deliver projects in 4k with minimal compression.

System Specs: Mac Pro (early 2009) OS X El Capitan V10.11.16 2 x 2.66ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Memory: 64 GB 1006 DDR3 ECC Startup Disk: Mercury... [view my complete system specs]

    Re: PC Components

threadripper & video editing don't work really well atm.

you'll want intel socket 2066, either 12core  i7 consumer or 10 core xeon.

the 1080ti is fast of course.

if you do phat 4k, me thinks you'll want a fast hardware raid array.
