So nothing too exotic here right?

And as far as I know, there is no plugin for it from Panasonic, and Quicktime gives an error - so Avid also gives an error (as it has no H.264 support except thru Quicktime)

Let's just blame it all on Quicktime and Panasonic - but it would be nice if Avid took responsibility and made software that attempted to decode and ingest it also. Other NLEs provide this for free, as standard....

ie. a video editor that can actually edit video from major manufacturers of cameras such as Panasonic.

According to this link http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Download/en394531 - I should use version 4.3 P2 AMA plugins as you say with MC 8.2.11, but 4.3 is not available on the pana website anymore.

I'm not really sure of the plugin architechture for v.8.2.11 - I thought that P2 support was built in as standard, as under the info tab I have never seen any mention of P2 as a plugin, and we ingest P2 all the time - so it functions even though there is no plugin installed.

Plus the P2 AMA plugin mentions support for AVC-Intra, DV, DVCPRO - ie. all formats available with P2 cameras. The GH4 is not a P2 camera, and the video is H.264.

I don't know - if I can get a hold of it I can give it a try, but I'm not holding my breath.
